This year I got the best birthday present ever. An extended weekend down in Key West with my girlfriend and a few friends. We did the standard Duval drinking every night, but we always ended up at either Captain Tony’s Saloon or The Green Parrot. We did “attempt” to fish, but it was a little blown out. But we did find a spot to cast a line. Everyone caught their fair share of undersized snapper. And just about as we were putting on masks and fins to try our hand at some lobster, a Big Pine Key native had other ideas and threatened to call Monroe County’s finest. So we swiftly packed up our gear and “priors” and headed back to the room. We stayed at the amazing Paradise Inn. It was a nice change from sleeping in tents and cars every other time I’m in the Keys. All in all it was an epic weekend.
