Last weekend Mikie, Brandon, and Myself made a little trip down to Flamingo in the Everglades National Park. None of us had fished down there and its legendary status in the game got our juices going. We rented a skiff from the park for $195 for eight hours, not including the $100 deposit. Don and I were overdue for a weekend getaway. We have been boatless for a while so fishing needed to be part of the trip. We are also scouting areas to move to when we retire. We have already checked out most of Pinellas County and wanted to look over HWY 41 south of Tampa to Bradenton. Read more..

Scallop season opened July 1st this year to mixed reviews in the local papers. Due to the tropical storm and all the rain it produced, people claimed to have a hard time seeing scallops because of the lack of water clarity. Last Thursday and Friday I found myself with both my Wife and Daughter on separate trips. It was my duty to feed the dogs and FISH.
